Data management should be seen as a key differentiator in business. The real value of data depends on the person and his or her situation. And, not on the data directly itself.
Why Data Management
Data management is an exciting and valuable capability that is worth time and effort. Our aim is to provide a gentle introduction by reaching the following goals:
1. To provide a “gentle” introduction to the field of DM by explaining and illustrating its core concepts based on a mix of theory and practical frameworks such as the TOGAF Standard, ArchiMate, and DMBOK. Real -world assignments will also be covered.
2. To offer guidance on how to build up sufficient DM capability in an organization. Various cases linked to the previously mentioned theoretical exploration will be used for illustration purposes. These also include stories told by practitioners in the field.
Why a data management community?
Organizations often need to find the right balance in terms of what they decide to put their energy into. It can be either data management activities OR value creation with data. And, this may be the main challenge for most organizations. Successful data management requires an offense and defense tactic.
